Closed-mold injection is a process where the degassed, metered and mixed materials are typically injected into the mold with positive pressure from the bottom, up. The air-free mixed material rises up inside the closed mold, forcing air that is on top of the resin out of the mold through top-side vent holes. Closed mold injection is sometimes combined with spin casting or compression molding.
